The Yorkshire Arboretum Nursery Rhyme Trail. During opening hours Have you ever wondered what the little mouse made his clogs from, or about the origins of the no nonsense poem Hickory Dickory Dock? Tiptoe through our nursery rhyme trail to find out. Aimed at families with children aged 3-8 yrs. Normal admission applies.

The Yorkshire Arboretum Jim the Plant Hunter Step into the boots of a plant hunter and explore botanical treasures from around the world. Aimed at families with primary aged children.

3 - 22 September

The Yorkshire Arboretum Exhibition - Mapping Ourselves - The Yorkshire Arboretum within the Castle Howard Landscape: Past, Present and Future. This exhibition will be in the Visitor Centre.

The Yorkshire Arboretum Talk - The Grand Landscape of Castle Howard. 7.30pm - 8.30pm Learn how this landscape has developed from 1699 onwards from Dr. Chris Ridgway, Curator of Castle Howard. Free. Booking required.

The Yorkshire Arboretum Bat Walk - 7.00pm - 9.00pm Take a dusk walk in the arboretum armed with a bat detector and accompanied by our expert Simon Bassindale. Adults £5, child £3. Booking required

The Yorkshire Arboretum Meeting with Trees: Back to school. 11.00am - 1.00pm Sixth in a series of seven tours. For this tour, you are invited to tell us what in particular you’d be interested to learn about and we can try and find the answers when we go out. Meet in the cafe at 10.30am, set out to walk at 11.00am. Free (normal admission applies).

The Yorkshire Arboretum Gardening in the Emerald City (Talk). 7.15pm - 9.00pm Riz Reyes is a young Filipino-American, making a name for himself in horticulture there. This will be his first UK talk, covering the exciting garden scene in his home city of Seattle. Free but donations welcome.
