Parish Meeting
Introduction
Parish Meetings are the small village equivalent of Parish Councils. The main difference is that whereas the Parish Council members discuss the local government issues that need addressing, the Parish Meeting is an open forum in which discussions and decisions are taken by those villagers on the electoral role attending the meeting. It can be argued that it is a more democratic body.
The Annual Parish Meeting elects a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer who form the officers of the Meeting.
