Village Hall

Built in 1988 (Architect Sykes Abel Partnership of Leeds, and builder W.H.Cowling from Easingwold) the Hall is an excellent size for all village activities, replacing the larger hall, built in 1913 by Col. Benson. It can accomodate 100 people and has a well equipped kitchen, toilets, including one for the disabled, and an external store. It also has a good car park. The Hall is light, airy and well heated with a piano, and an amplifier with speakers.

The Parish Meetings are held here, the Simeon Singers choir rehearses, the Art class meets, as well as Pilates, Keep Fit, and Scottish, Cajun and Tango dancing. On a Thursday is the 3Bs: Books, Biscuits and Banter, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. This is open to everyone in the village to drop into. Funds raised from here go to pay for the Annual Christmas Party - the most popular event of the year.

Cost of hiring: £7 per hour.
